Communication Studies
When I began my degree in Communication Studies in 2023, my goal was clear — to become a journalist. However, throughout my academic journey, I learned that our aspirations can evolve.
I leave this experience with a diverse set of communication skills, ranging from writing and audiovisual production to proficiency in the Adobe creative suite.
NEW LEAF
Alongside my formal education, I attended an English language school in Lamego for eight years (2015–2023). During this time, I developed my language skills and completed three Cambridge English qualifications: A2 Key in June 2019, B2 First in June 2022, and C1 Advanced in June 2023. This experience strengthened both my proficiency in English and my interest in languages and intercultural communication.
Extracurricular activities
ComUM
During my time at ComUM, the Communication Studies student newspaper, I contributed to the culture section by writing articles and covering a variety of cultural events. This experience strengthened my journalistic writing, interviewing and reporting skills.
GACCUM
In 2024, I joined GACCUM, the Communication Studies student association, as a collaborator in the creative department. In October 2025, I became co-director of the projects department, where I coordinated initiatives for students, including the Communication Studies Conference, while developing my leadership, teamwork, and event management skills.
Volunteer at the European Conference on Health Communication
As a member of the conference logistics team, I assisted with the preparation of conference rooms, auditoriums and coffee breaks, while also helping coordinate speakers' presentations. This experience strengthened my organizational skills and my ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
